Do you know Cheong-ju Art Planner? That group is trying to create opportunities for university students to experience culture. The group members of Cheong-ju Art Planner have a dream about planning public performances. They have planned performances, exhibits and parties. The CBT met Lee Han-ha, who organized Cheong-ju Art Planner. Cheong-ju Art Planner is for Cheong-ju college students who have little chance to experience youth culture.
¡á Why are you running Cheong-ju Art Planner?
I dreamed about event planning when I was a high school student. I thought that planning was similar to the School of Business. When I do event planning, I should do finance, management, and marketing about the public performances. I wanted to do the event planning when I was a high school student, but I couldn¡¯t find out about the event planning in Cheong-ju, so I had to travel to other regions in my junior and senior years of high school to do extra-curricular activities. I took time off from university after junior year. I wanted to give an opportunity to people who have the same dream I had. I configured one group with my three friends, and we interviewed some students.
¡á Who was the most impressive member to you?
I thought for a long time when I heard that question. I couldn¡¯t select one person because I was affected by all of the members. If I had to pick one, I would choose my friend, the planning team leader. I wandered from place to place because I couldn¡¯t find anyone to lean on. She held me up when I wandered from place to place.
¡á What was your most impressive event?
The most interesting event was the retro party. That event aroused lots of sympathy. In former events, some members couldn¡¯t enjoy the events, but at this party, all of the members had fun. The most satisfying and the hardest event was the BGM concert. That was the most impressive event. We sent a book with 10 members¡¯ letters to the singer Kim Ji-soo. At that time, Kim Ji-soo was deeply moved and he offered the free performance. The members and I were proud of that because we made it happen with our bare hands.
¡á The cost to reach our dream
Our activities are operated at our own cost. We received support funds from Shinhan bank¡¯s S20 club and some acquaintances, but they were not regular supporters, so we need to resolve our debt. I know that is the cost to reach our dream, but I¡¯m really sorry to our members. There was a project that I wished to do, but I couldn¡¯t do that because of the budget constraint. Also, contacting with the civil servants is not going well.
¡á To students
Cheong-ju Art Planner will make projects to share with students, but we need university students who are interested in our projects first. I hope that many of you will show interest in us.
