CBNU Library Operates, Three Customized Book Curation Programs
The Reading Room of the CBNU Main Library, ahead of the exam period, has tension like a tight bowstring. In the silence, students sit at desks stacked with textbooks, facing not only competition for grades and employment but also anxiety and uncertainty about the future. Today¡¯s university students witness others¡¯ achievements in real time through smartphones and are placed in an environment of constant comparison and competition. Many also experience fatigue from human relationships and lack of self-confidence, and the reality is that they do not always know where to share this burden. Amid the vast flood of information, deep reading that truly strengthens the one¡¯s inner resilience is often pushed aside.
Improvement of University Employment Programs
With the recent intensification of the youth unemployment crisis, the importance of university-level employment support systems is growing. Universities are expanding their support by operating various programs to enhance students¡¯ competitiveness in the job market, and the Section of Career and Employment Office of Student Affairs in CBNU also provides special lectures on employment, cover letter editing, mock interviews, and career counseling.

First launched in 1991, the Companion Animal Festival has established itself as one of the representative companion animal events in Cheongju.
Reinterpreting Urban Space, SEOUL INTERNATIONAL GARDEN SHOW
A green scent spreads among well-kept trees, and gardens and art installations fill the spaces between them. Since May 1, Seoul Forest has moved beyond its usual image as a simple urban park and turned into one large garden. The 2026 Seoul International Garden Show has opened. Held under the theme of Seoul Green Culture, the show connects Seoul¡¯s urban culture, gardens and nature. It will continue until Oct. 27, and visitors can experience how nature and culture can exist together in the middle of the city.
The Cinema Industry in Crisis: Is There a Way Out?
After reaching its peak in 2019 with the box office takings of 1.914 trillion KRW, the Korean film industry collapsed due to COVID-19, falling to 510.4 billion KRW in 2020—nearly a quarter of its takings in 2019. Although the industry appeared to recover in 2022, reaching 1.1602 trillion KRW, it still remains at only about half of its pre-pandemic level and faces a period of severe stagnation. A combination of factors contributes to slow recovery, including the rapid growth of OTT platforms such as Netflix, TVING, and Coupang Play, shrinking investment caused by weakening of profitability, a shortage of film content, and increasing production costs and ticket prices. This article covers the factors behind the crisis facing the cinema industry and directions for its future.
The Science behind Caffeine and Wise Ways to Consume It
During exam periods, coffee cups and energy drink cans are a common sight on the desks of libraries. To overcome academic stress and insufficient sleep while maintaining concentration, many students rely on caffeine. However, how does the caffeine students mindlessly consume every day actually operate within our bodies, and what effects can it have beyond temporary alertness? Based on the actual experiences of CBNU students, insights from a specialist, and finding from research papers published in international academic journals, a CBT reporter has delved deeply into a mechanism of caffeine and ways to consume it safely and wisely.
Meme Marketing: Advertisements Become Content
Meme is everywhere on social media. With just a brief scroll, users are likely to encounter them in their feeds. According to Forbes, millennials are estimated to encounter 20 to 30 memes per day. In Korea, several meme phrases have recently gained popularity, including ¡°Doum manidoenda¡± which means ¡°this is so helpful¡± is coined by a former MMA fighter—used to reframe hardship as a source of growth. ¡°Unbalanced¡± which is popularized by a comdian—applied to situations that feel awkward or out of place. Parodies of scenes from the film The King¡¯s Warden have also circulated online.
Unique Summer Festivals around the World

These unique festivals around the world reflect local customs, beliefs, and ways of celebration.
[Desk Column] My Slow but Precious Two Years with CBT
¡°What does not kill me makes me stronger.¡± These words by Nietzsche resonated with me throughout my time at CBT. In the spring semester of my freshman year in 2024, I impulsively applied to the newspaper office simply because I wanted a more meaningful and unique college experience. I expected it to be a welcoming and relaxed environment, but reality was completely different. The endless corrections, feedback, and revisions I faced made me feel much more overwhelmed than I had expected.
