Now, it is difficult to find short-term language training programs at Chungbuk National University(CBNU). According to the 2013 second semester selection guidelines for exchange students that CBNU CIA(CBNU Center of International Affairs) announced, 21 foreign universities will select students who can study at the university for at least one semester. These selected students will be supported by CBNU and can go to short-term language training programs with the school’s support. However, short-term language training programs shorter than six months cannot be found now. For that reason, a CBNU CIA officer said, “In the past, four-week or six-week language training programs existed. However, the programs have been gradually reduced for several years because of an effectiveness problem of short-term language training programs. At present, short-term language training programs are offered only for excellent students of CBNU CIA language courses.”
