There are various restaurants near CBNU. Street foods and food trucks account for 10% of them. They are loved by students, and they stimulate students¡¯ appetites. This CBT reporter introduces and investigates Korean street foods and food trucks in the Culture section. -Ed.

First, let¡¯s look at the food truck that sells takoyaki. The popular foods in this food truck are the original takoyaki and the cream cheese takoyaki. Prices range from 2,000 to 9,000 won depending on the quantity and additional toppings. For example, a customer can choose scallions as an additional topping. This food truck opens at 10 a.m. Everyday has different closing hours depending on the situation.

Two or three trucks are located across from Nunaholdark(the name of a store that sells chicken). These food trucks sell flour based foods such as tokpokki, fish cakes, soondaes and fried foods. These trucks open after 5 p.m., and many people visit there at night. Tokpokki is sold at the price of 2,000 won per person. In addition, fish cakes and spicy fish cakes are sold at the price of 500 won and 700 won per unit respectively. Lastly, soondae is sold at the price of 3,500 won. There are some others sell hot dogs and hamburgers.

The food truck sells crisply fired Chinese pancakes at the price of 500 won. Common Chinese pancakes are thick. However, these Chinese pancakes are thin, crunchy and cheap. The storekeeper said, ¡°My store is one of the franchised stores. The founder told me that he named this store as Joljol Pancake referring to the sound of a stream. Moreover, Jjol jjol Pancake which is of 2, Namsa-ro, Sangdang-gu, is not the original. Joljol Pancake is original spelling. I wish students to know about this.¡± The opening hour of this truck is 2 or 3 p.m., and the closing hour is 10 or 11 p.m.

There is a street food which sells peanut breads and walnut breads in front of the CBNU hospital. The usual opening hour is 12 p.m., and this store doesn¡¯t open when it rains. Peanut breads are sold at the price of 2,000 won per 50 units, and walnut breads are sold at the price of 2,000 per 18 units. You can enjoy sweet peanut breads and walnut breads at the same time.
