Recently, there are all different kinds of occupations in the world. However, most students want stable jobs that everyone wants to get. There is a person who challenges new fields. Reporters of the Chungbuk Times met Yoo Woo-jong, a private investigator. -Ed.

¡á What is a Private Investigator?
A private investigator, my job, is a professional job that researches about a car crash or an industrial spy, while working in various categories. A private investigator mostly works at a corporation's request. A private investigator is not accepted by the law. Therefore, a private investigator's social activities have been restricted. However, we are working in a field out of the police's range in order to disclose an event by uncovering the truth. If you want to become a private investigator, you should take a course for 2 months followed by an exam. So far, there are more than 700 private investigators. Only a few years ago, many people did not know about this job. What was worse, people were confused about the role between detective agencies and private investigators. I made an effort to let all the people know about private investigators and it was successful somehow. As it has become popular, the course is also becoming popular for lawyers, professors and an ex-cops. Therefore, we are supposed to open a private investigation class soon in Baekseok University.
Many people asked me if I received threats from anybody. I receive threatening phone calls because I research mostly industrial fraud cases. We decline requests about politicians, engaging in religion and muggers. We are not solvers but private investigators. Despite the personal risks, it can be rewarding doing this job. For example, I researched one car accident. There was a car crash between two cars. The parents died immediately, and only the son survived. The conclusion was that parents caused the accident. Therefore, the case was closed. However, we reinvestigated this case after one year and we found that three cars had been involved in the accident not two cars. A moment of wrong investigating can change one's life forever. For me, this event was a very rewarding.
Most people can be helped by private investigators through the internet. First, we judge whether to accept requesting incidents or not. Then, we consult with a lawyer about the incident's legal specifics. Finally, we make a judgment that lies beyond the scope of our investigation. All of these steps are required, and then we start to research about the incident.

¡á Dreams come true
In my childhood, I was not interested in studying. When I was a high school student, I decided to study hard, but the result was not so good. My parents' wish for me was to major in electric engineering, so I entered a university to major in electric engineering. After I entered university, I accidentally joined a theater group. My first part was to be a judge in a mock trial. Therefore, I suddenly came to remember the doubtful death of my uncle without evidence. I had promised to resolve the death of my uncle since I was a youth. Therefore, I have been hoping to be a person who can clear somebody of a false charge. Then, I remembered seeing Macgyver when I was young. I remembered the scene where Macgyver sent signals in order to catch the thief. Precisely, Macgyver transmitted a signal using Morse code. I learned sending a morse code in special forces because Morse code impressed me. I also learned skydiving and making explosives. These experiences made me a private investigator. I didn't reach my dream yet. My final destination is to be a private investigator accepted by the law. I hope the day will come when private investigators are loved by all citizens. Then, law will finally be applied fairly for every citizen, so there will be no more miserable victims.

¡á To students who challenges new fields
These days, you lack desire. You should pursue a high dream. Speak out on what you really want three times a day. Seen from my experience, I put a spell on myself three times a day, 'I can lose my weight', and then it really worked and I finally lost my weight. You all can make your dreams come true someday if you have dreams and have confidence that your dreams will be realized. You should find your dream by yourself. Recently, many people feel it is hard to get a job. The job market is saturated. You should find a prospective job. Your time as a student is precious. However, students don't know how precious that period is. When you improve the shining hour while you are a university student, you can make your dream come true. Recently, young people avoid hard work, so foreign workers are taking those jobs. I think it is wrong. Even though working is hard, people are suitable for work. Try hard to catch the dream, and don't waste your time.
