[Difficulty in Using IT Products]Learning about IT products and Smart Phones
Á¦ 115 È£    ¹ßÇàÀÏ : 2010.04.15

Using smart phones, people nowadays can easily use services for financial transactions, can talk with friends freely and can go to restaurants without asking someone for directions. In spite of the global economic crisis, demand for smart phones is increasing. Samsung Economics Research Institute forecasts that a market share of smart phones will reach 40% in the cell phone market by 2013.

However, some people are stressed by smart phones. Have you ever heard of 'Techno Stress Syndrome'? Since new IT products have increased in their daily lives, some people haven't adapted to the change. The internet portal site 'Job Korea' investigated 857 workers, and more than half of the workers answered, "I suffer from Techno stress." This phenomenon can be found not only in our country but also in England. According to a recent survey by a cell phone company, about 43% of British were so stressed because of smart phones because the speed of IT development was faster than the speed at which customers acquired the IT knowledge.

Have you experienced the stress caused by IT products? Many people are stressed because of smart phones. People can download applications they need. However, the process is so complicated. In spite of many people buying smart phones, they don't know how to handle their functions.

One of the reasons why customers can't acquire IT knowledge quickly is the recent Korean advertising concept of focusing on stimulating customer purchases. The advertising concept is called teaser advertising. The advertisement just arouses people's curiosity and doesn't introduce how to use their products or services. Also, people can't learn about their products anywhere. In the early 90's, computer education was popular in Korea. Many people could learn to save a file, to use a mouse and to turn off a program because they predicted that computers would change our lives. Smart phones will bring about innovation in our daily lives.

Using a smart phone is not only a person's selection by individual preference but also a necessity to work efficiently. Therefore, the ability to use their smart phones efficiently is included in their competitiveness. If they just take pictures or play games with smart phones, they fall behind. However, it is never too late. People need to have interest in smart phones. They will admire its versatile ability. Learning about IT products and smart phones can increase people's competitiveness, can make work more efficient and can help them understand the change in culture.
