[Students' Special Experience] I'm in South Korea Now
Á¦ 104 È£    ¹ßÇàÀÏ : 2008.11.04

To be an exchange student in Korea is my best goal to study Korean. Why I like Korea? I¡¯ve been interested in Korean culture for a long time, and I think many Koreans are hard-working. Also, I don¡¯t want to become a person with narrow views, so I decided to apply to Chungbuk National University. Lucky me, I got the chance!
My Korean ability improved by talking to people and by gesturing, and I can bargain the price of products when I go shopping. I think that the best way to learn a language is to be brave and put yourself in another country. Another benefit is that I met a lot of friends from different countries, and all of them are nice and kind. Because we all come from different countries, we don¡¯t have family here, so friends are family. We take care of each other although we just met 2 months ago. Also, the South Korean friends with all their heart help us and exchange the language to study mutually with us. They are very interesting and become integrated with us very quickly. They lead us to eat good South Korean food, to experience the South Korean culture and to go sightseeing. I was really very joyful!
Frequently, because of language, relational sounds are many jokes. Once, while chatting with my elder brother, I wanted to say to him that somebody was very insensitive. Therefore, I said, ¡°»Ç»ÇÇØ¿ä,¡± and looked at the elder brother¡¯s face change red. Additionally, he said, ¡°What? What?¡± I was also impatient, so I pointed and said, ¡°»Ç»Ç! »Ç»Ç!¡± When I saw the elder brother¡¯s face get redder, I then realized that the pronunciations were very much alike, and I hurried to write ¡°»·»·ÇØ¿ä.¡± I only saw the elder brother¡¯s expression that he was really embarrassed.
After coming to South Korea, I changed my ideas and many things. My idea is no longer narrow and my heart is also spacious. Going abroad to study other language, abandons the nationality to study the people and to be together with them. Expanding country experience creates independence. I really think that going abroad for education is a good opportunity for you.
