If people watch the news these days, they can see much news about the current government. Thanks to the fast-developing technology, people can quickly hear about social issues. This increased accessibility has given people a chance to pay more attention to politics. Young people are also very interested in politics and speak their voices. As many people are interested in politics, there are various attitudes toward it. Some young people have withdrawn their support from the incumbent administration. This withdrawal of supporting the current government does not mean that they are anti-government, but why have the younger citizens especially come to be disappointed with the current government?
  After, the former president’s impeachment, more people became interested in politics. People began to voice their opinions more actively to the incumbent administration, and the government implemented policies such as a people’s petition system. The national petition system is the most widely-known problem. The system allows the government to hear the common opinions of a large number of people. The petition can be uploaded via the Internet or a mobile device. Young people are actively using the system because of its easy accessibility. Most of the petitions have rapidly become social issues among the youth. That’s how serious younger people are about the government solving social problems. Running the petition system was a good thing, but there was a problem afterward. Currently, ridiculous petitions are posted on the website, with some even posting such petitions as turning the website into a laughingstock. It seemed enough for others to disappoint the government that does not impose sanctions. Since then, the government has made the petition system with the precondition. If it fails to exceed 100 people’s prior consent, the petition will not be accepted. However, it has been enough for the public to get tired of the system that has been managed so far.
  Next is the inter-Korean summit, which has still attracted many people’s attention. Just a few months ago, South Korean press posted articles saying that its interests with North Korea were looking for a positive outlook, creating an atmosphere that unification could be achieved soon. People hoped the government quickly pushed the inter-Korean talks. Negotiations between the U.S. and North Korea also took place during consultations between the South and North Korea. It seemed that relations between South Korea and North Korea would improve smoothly, but problems arose. Negotiations virtually broke down due to conflicts of interest with the United States and North Korea and failed to bring about the denuclearization of the North. Also, inter-Korean relations have returned to the starting point. Upon hearing this fact, the public can say that they are disappointed with the incumbent administration.
  Other reasons why some young people are now withdrawing their support are complexed. The first thing people can think about is restricting social media by the government. It may not be true that the government manipulates the media. However, the suspicion is entirely reasonable that the government, for example, might be doing something wrong, setting off a celebrity scandal to hide the dentistry, or exposing issues that could turn the public’s attention. If it is true, it is an act of deceiving the people. That’s why doubts about the government may gain momentum for younger people who are more informed than other age groups. Another reason lies in the environmental problems that arise at this time. Even before spring came, much fine dust was rich in Korea. There were even days when there was so much air pollution that Cheongju received dust warning messages for three consecutive days. People think that one of the leading causes of fine dust in Korea is fine dust from China and have sought to allow the government to take appropriate measures against it. However, the government has failed the public with its failure. Among young people, they criticized the pledge of reducing fine dust that the president promised when he was running an election.
  It is a widespread phenomenon that young people have become more interested in politics. That will make people more aware citizens, and there will be more people who can be proper human resources. Therefore, young people should be allowed to look at national affairs from an objective perspective, and voice criticism on matters that are not reasonable. Also, the government should be able to face up to this phenomenon and gather the opinions of the majority of the people and strive to become a government that the people can trust.
