The Emergency-Call(E-Call) will be installed around the campus. This project is hosted by the General Students' Association and the General Female Students' Association in cooperation with a security service company, ADT CAPS. The purpose of setting up the E-Call is to relieve the fellow students' anxieties about unexpected incidents like sex crimes, robberies and any other cruel crimes which mostly happen at night. CBNU will be the first university in Korea to use the E-Call system. Therefore, if the operation succeeds, the E-Call system will spread out to other schools.
The standards for a suitable location are where a closed-circuit television(CCTV) can secure a clear view, where there are relatively few people at night, or where many fellow students pass by. According to the standards, the E-calls are supposed to be installed in 10 spots around some school buildings. If you are in a dangerous circumstances, press the button of the E-Call. Then, CAPS safety personnel will show up.
The E-Call has 3 important systems. Those are the CCTV, which can revolve 360 degrees, a connection with a CAPS situation room around the clock and the alarm bell. There are two types of E-Calls. One is a wall type, and the other is a post type.
As the E-Call includes the CCTV system, it is possible to judge whether the situation is really urgent or not when someone presses the button. Otherwise, it would be difficult for the CAPS safety personnel to deal with the situation when the students pushed the button just for fun or out of curiosity.
