Summary
The Truman Show is literally a TV show that broadcasts the life of a man named Truman Burbank. The show was the most popular program on offer and portrayed his whole life from birth, including his baby steps, elementary school, college, and marriage. This show broadcasted live 24 hours a day, filming his every move. But Truman himself had no idea that his life was broadcasted. Everyone in The Truman Show, except Truman, was an actor. Seahaven, an island where he has lived since he was young, is actually a huge set where outsiders are not allowed to enter. Then one day, Truman realizes that some things are subtly strange, such as the appearance of the same people at the same place at a certain time. Truman, who later found out that the world surrounding him was all fake, began to escape in search of a true life. The show ends when Truman finally succeeds in escaping from the huge set where he lived, escaping the production crew who wanted to continue broadcasting.

Impressive lines
¡°We accept the reality of the world with which we¡¯re presented.¡±
As Truman struggled to identify the broadcast, the line was spoken by producer Christof. In other words, even if you live in a fake reality, it is difficult to recognize the truth as long as you continue to be in it.

¡°In case I don¡¯t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.¡±
After overcoming everything and going out to the other side of the sea, Truman reaches the end of the set. This is the line from the scene where he finds a staircase installed on the wall of the set and climbs it to reach the door. He is expressing his intention to leave the set and never return.

The message the director wanted to convey
After Truman succeeded in escaping and everyone cheered, a viewer clicking the remote control without much emotion, comments, ¡°Is there anything else to see?¡± It criticizes the lack of empathy of modern people who regard even Truman¡¯s victory and restoration of humanity as entertainment. In addition, Truman¡¯s escape conveys the message that freedom to live for oneself is more important than a comfortable life.
In Hermann Hesse¡¯s novel Demian, ¡°The bird struggles to get out of the egg. The egg is a world. Those who wish to be born must break a world.¡± The main character Truman, who lives a fake life, escapes from the world he lives in and gradually overcomes rough winds and waves in the process of finding his real life and eventually gains freedom. The Truman Show tells the lesson of life that ¡°if you try to the end, you will win what you want.¡±

Recommended to
This CBT reporter recommends the movie to those who want to look back on their lives. In the final part of The Truman Show, in a conversation between Christof and Truman, Truman asks, ¡°Who am I?¡± This line asks the viewer, ¡°Are you really living your own life that you chose?¡± It means to look back on whether your life is formed and fabricated by media and advertisements, what you really are, and what you want. Through the movie The Truman Show, viewers can not only look back on their own lives so far, but also think about the risk factors of modern media that have grown in influence.
