Is a 'strongness' good thing?

There are many 'Sparta private educational institutes' for university entrance examination in Korea. The name of their education method is called sparta education. Then, what is sparta education? It is the tight method of education which does not allow any free time. Clearly, this kind of method just for university entrance examination show a miserable position of students who sacrifice their life to entrance examination. And it also show limitation of distorted education policy. Accordingly, Sparta education is not method of education. It is just forceful rhetoric which emphasize the 'mental strength' like soldier. Usually, students, who are studying in like Sparta private educational institutes, suffer emotional distress and get little increased score.

The movie <300> is from the graphic fiction written by Frank Miller. This movie is based on the Battle of Thermopylae. Because of amazing computer graphic effect, it was become the talk of the town. However it was also become a political controversy. The fact that Persia represented the Middle East was the problem. Especially, Iran showed sensitive response about this movie. Iran insisted that <300> expressed the iranian culture as a barbarous custom.

"Death comes to me." 300 Spartan soldiers checked Persians` advance with the resolute will. 300 Spartan soldiers not just leave their body but also independent will. Lay down one's life for the country and honor. That was a Sparta spirit. The movie ended with active scene. Sparta spirit was transferred from one generation to the next and strong Sparta was founded.

In this regard, the point of Sparta spirit is 'self-effacing egocentrism' This ideology is an iron will which does not allow intervention of any other materials. Severe exclusiveness hides in the ideology. In the movie there was just 'only one value' imposed on Spartan 300 soldiers. The movie showed that only their value is special and must be protected. At all sacrifices, they must protect the their unique value. Such a hostility is an anachronism.

Leonidas the king of Sparta and his soldiers put emphasis on justification and honor than victory. Then, what is justification which they tried to protect? That was protect weak women, child and citizen from evil external enemy. It was thorough heroism.

However, we might find hidden ideology one by one as we trace stream of the movie. In the movie, image of Persia positioned as external enemy. Sparta was virtue and Persia was evil. We could see thorough dividing description in the movie.

Persian soldiers were colored races and had hideous appearance. They looked like monster and devil. Especially, devil was called 'immortal' and they were expressed predators of human spirit.

Spartan soldiers wasted their whole life to pursue just a 'strength'. This movie inspired respect about strength. According to Spartan spirit, a man will be thrown out of his nation if he is weak. Spartan spirit can be changed into blind androcentrism, nationalism and fascism. This movie showed the best amusement to audiences. That amusement can disturb audiences who try to find ideologies in the movie. Spartan soldiers` body are beautiful and gorgeous. Their battles looked like prestige and good.

The dangerous thing is Leonidas`s clear sermon. However, the more dangerous thing is the fact that optical pleasure can cover ideology.
