In a few days, all school work with be finished and summer will finally welcome us with her warm and comforting arms.
 
Nowadays competition seems to be a key word in Korean people¡¯s life. Especially the present government with its firm belief in neo-liberalist creeds seems to raise a high banner of competition, introducing the free market principle into every area. Many people maintain that competition has a positive value.
 
Due to the effects of the media, negative opinions about adoption are disappearing a great deal. However, the prejudice against adoption still remains. In this issue, CBT looks at the changing opinions about adoption and proposes what we have to change in the system of adoption.
 
Recently, the whole world is quivering with a fear of new epidemics. However, about thirty years ago, there was the ¡°Korean Hemorrhagic Fever(KHF)¡± that caused more serious damages than the present flu. CBT met the microbiologist Lee Ho-wang, who found the Hantaan virus which causes KHF, developed the vaccine, and saved many people. Let¡¯s listen to his story about his career and his philosophy of life. -Ed.
