Korea is concerned about economical subordination to the US in the field of manufacturing where the US is dominant. Meanwhile, the economic growth of Korea can be expected considering that Korea depends on exports and one of our biggest trade partners is the US. In this way, there are many advantages and disadvantages of the FTA. Therefore, we should concentrate on dealing with expected problems and maximizing the advantages rather than telling right from wrong.

I disagree with the Korea-USA FTA. There are many disadvantageous provisions in the first ratification of the treaty. The Korean government just seems to be accepting a ratification of a treaty. I think that we should prepare measures which can economically organize an equal position for each country. Also, we need to comprehend Korea's future losses from the ISD(Investor State Dispute Settlement) for a democratic Korea-USA FTA.

I'm against the Korea-US FTA. There are 4 reasons. First, in Korea, the FTA clauses work as if they stand above all other national laws including the Korean constitution. However, in the US, its national law remains almost intact, and they consider federal law to be a priority. Therefore, it can emasculate our legal system.
Second, it can be a despair where our public sector can be privatized, not just an agreement about trade between the two countries. Therefore, it can do serious harm to people in Korea.
Third, trade disputes can now be solved under the WTO, but once the FTA is accepted, foreign investors will be able to sue counterparts in international arbitration organizations. Therefore, through this, Korean national sovereignty can be weakened.
Fourth, it can cause the outflow of national wealth and worsen the gap between the rich and the poor by encouraging international financial capital in searching for profit who is laready greedy.
