Last December, CBNU opened a non-curriculum management integration system called ¡°CIEAT¡± by coordinating the existing scattered systems in order to manage them effectively and deliver comparative programs to the student. This article will help students to learn more about CIEAT and at the same time, learn about non-curriculum programs on offer at CBNU.
What is CIEAT?
First, CIEAT is short for ¡°CBNU Innovative Extracurricular mAnagement sysTem¡±, and it refers to CBNU¡¯s unique non-curriculum management integration system. The system was initiated last December, and all functions are scheduled to open in March this year by adding a lifelong counselor system. CBNU students can access it at https://cieat.chungbut.ac.kr or by clicking on the link located at the bottom of the Gaesin-nuri homepage.
The main characteristic of CIEAT is that all non-curriculum programs and activities, which are provided by CBNU, can be recommended to the students by the system, and checked for progressive activities. In addition, they can earn CIEAT mileage points which CBNU uses to select ¡°Mileage Excellent students¡± in January every year. They will have additional points when CBNU scholarship students are selected. Besides, there are additional benefits such as being able to select a ¡°Mileage Excellent Department¡± in September every year. To earn CIEAT mileage students have to do some or all of the following: ¡ã Conduct the satisfaction survey after participating in a non-curriculum program and ¡ã Get reviewed by the department when students upload each activity report after participating in an official language test, certificate, service, and other activities.
What kind of activities can be found in CIEAT?
1. Core competency certification
The core competency certification is ¡ã Training of human resources in CBNU, and ¡ã Indexing and managing recorded activities. In this system, there is a school certification system called ¡°Gaesin-in certification¡±, which certifies that a student has his or her talent on campus. To get ¡°Gaesin-in certification¡±, requires a total of more than 1,900 points of core competency certification index, and additionally 300 points of ¡°truth¡±, ¡°justice¡± and ¡°pioneering respectively.¡± The calculation method of the index is calculated by combing the ¡ã Core competency index of the curriculum and non-curriculum.
2. Diagnosis center
The Diagnosis center tab offers the following options: self-diagnosis, a core competency test, study type diagnosis, studying self-diagnosis, and Worknet diagnosis. First of all, ¡ã Self-diagnosis measures the level of six core competencies in CBNU. Participate in the diagnosis, and check the results to have a suitable self-development program recommended for participants and have their portfolios managed. ¡ã Study type diagnosis and studying self-diagnosis helps to conceive effective studying strategies for the participants, and at the same time identify and supplement their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, ¡ã Worknet diagnosis is a link service between Worknet and CBNU that helps students kick off a career through results and counseling about suitable psychological tests for the students preparing to get a job or employment.
3. Learning Management
In this tab, students can check the progress of their learning, curriculum information and apply and check the details of various non-curriculum activities. As of February 10th, eight programs are in progress, including ¡ã MBTI psychological test for 2020 students, ¡ã Laboratory internships for 3rd and 4th graders, and more programs are expected to be available if the system is officially opened in March.
Also, through the self-directed activity tab, the students can get mileage points by registering a record of official language tests (e.g. TOEIC, TOEFL), certificates, services, and other activities, and can share their opinions with various people through the discussion plaza tab.
4. Professional counseling center
In this tab, you may find ¡ã Career and employment counseling, ¡ã Psychological counseling and test, ¡ã Writing counseling, ¡ã Start-up counseling, ¡ã Disability support counseling, ¡ã Bachelor degree and other counseling. The student can select the items which are necessary and apply them according to the form initiated on the website and can check the results of the consultation you have conducted through the ¡ã Consultation history tab. Previous records that were applied differently cannot be found on this website, so if the students want to see past consultations, the student should check them via the previous route.
5. Other items
¡ã In the recruitment information tab, students can check the recruitment information provided on campus and another website, ¡ã In the career and employment information tab, students can compare their current curriculum and non-curriculum activities with the situation of other students. Additionally, students can check the national job competency standard information, certificates, and corporate information.
However, since the CIEAT service was opened in December last year, it has not been promoted to CBNU students, so the CBT reporters can check that the participation or access of the program is low now. In this situation, Park Yu-bin, who works in the department of teaching at CBNU said ¡°CBNU plans to select outstanding students through CIEAT mileage to provide scholarships or benefits. It is easy to apply for non-curriculum programs and manage performance for CBNU students, and various programs are currently in progress. Therefore, I hope CBNU students participate in CIEAT.¡±
In the current situation where face-to-face activities cannot be carried out smoothly, information on programs that CBNU students can participate in can be checked and utilized through CIEAT. The CBT reporters hope that CBNU students enjoy dynamic college lives taking advantage of the necessary capabilities with CIEAT.
