Since its beginning, television animation has been popular for both children and adults because of easy storylines and cute characters. Diverse countries have their own television animations, and everyone probably has their own favorite TV animation. Korea also has its own TV animations.
The history of Korean animation started in 1967. The first long animation that was aired on TV was ¡®Gold Bat¡¯. Because it was a collaborated animation with Japan, ¡®Gold Bat¡¯ was not Korea¡¯s own animation. Korea¡¯s own TV animation began to gain its popularity because of ¡®Dooly the Little Dinosaur¡¯, which was first aired in 1987. The story was about a green little dinosaur who suddenly came to Seoul from a glacial period. Also, this animation showed a touching story about Dooly and his mother. After television animations gained popularity thanks to Dooly, Korea jumped into the animation business and produced many other animations. ¡®Run, Hanie¡¯ was the first domestic animation series. It made a big hit, and in a survey of preferences for TV programs, ¡®Run, Hanie¡¯ was chosen to be the best TV program among elementary students at that time. Lots of TV animations were produced, and among those, ¡®Fly, Superboard¡¯, which was aired in the 1990s, had the highest viewing ratings. Due to its popularity, it had multiple seasons until 1998. In 2003, ¡®Porong Porong Pororo¡¯, the TV animation for preschool children, was produced. It gained worldwide popularity because of the good scenarios and cute characters.
Animations are made all over the world, and most people have their own memorable animations. Aren¡¯t you curious about which TV animations other people prefer?
