Today, we will introduce Kim In-seob from the wrestling team. -Ed
1. Why did you decide to start wrestling?
When I was young, I searched my name on the Internet sometimes, and I found a wrestler named Kim In-seob. He was a very good wrestler, and I have liked to exercise since I was young, so I felt a little bit proud of that, like, ¡®Oh, there is a wrestler who has the same name!¡¯ Along the way, when I entered middle school, a wrestling club was created, so I decided to try it out, but I gave up it after a while because it was too hard. However, after I gave up wrestling, I wandered more and more because I couldn¡¯t concentrate, and I didn¡¯t know what to do. At that time, the coach persuaded me, so I joined the wrestling team for real.
2. You will be competing as a member of the national team at the 2018 Asian Junior Wrestling Championships. Please say a few words.
The 2018 Asian Junior Selecting Dispatch Player Competition was held in February, and it was my first competition this year. When I got a gold medal, I was so glad because I thought it was a good start. I went to the 2018 Asian Junior Wrestling Championships last year, but much to my regret, I couldn¡¯t win a medal. I¡¯ll do my best to win the medal this year.
3. What do you think is the most attractive thing about wrestling?
First, wrestling is a combat sport. Moreover, the wrestlers only wear tights without a jacket, so I can see the condition of the opponent¡¯s body and myself during the game, so I think wrestling is a real sport for men. In addition, I think wrestling is a sport where the results always show how much effort was given. If I work hard without giving up, I will get the results I want, and I think it is the greatest charm of wrestling.
4. What are your goals for the future?
In the short run, I will win medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Wrestling Championships to promote CBNU. In the long run, I would like to participate in the Olympics, which is the biggest stage for athletes. My goal is entering the Korean National Training Center like all athletes desire. I want to participate in other major competitions and win medals in the name of the Republic of Korea. Also, my goal is to become a smart athlete by studying harder since I am attending the College of Education.
5. Please say something to the younger people who are studying physical education.
I just wish that they would try one more time, even if it is hard. In addition, while it is important to work hard, I think it is more important never to give up. I think it is more important for us to continue exercising, especially for lesser recognized sports like wrestling. Also, while it may be hard to exercise, you must think about what you do and how you exercise instead of just doing what coaches tell you to do. That is how I improved my exercising ability.
