CBNU runs the Headquarters of Employment Strategy & Support(HESS) for CBNU students and gives a lot of support to them. There are other centers related to getting a job such as the Career Development Center for College Women(CDCW), the Field Practice Support Center and the Career Development Center for Creative Economy(CDCCE), which will open on May 31st. Han Jung-hwa, who is a job consultant of HESS, introduced these centers to CBNU students.
Please give us a self-introduction.
My name is Han Jung-Hwa, and I am a job consultant of HESS. I also am in charge of the CK project. The CK project¡¯s purpose is the characterization of local universities like CBNU. The CK project has been running for 2 years, giving special lectures or employment support programs to students.
What kind of departments does HESS have and what are their roles?
HESS consists of the Employment Dept., the Career Development Center for College Women, the Field Practice Support Center and the Executive Dept. The Employment Department runs a recruitment fair, recruiting, 1:1 job consultation, etc. The CDCW runs a reinforcing gender sense program, which is a job training and business ability program for college women. The Field Practice Support Center runs a domestic and overseas internship program all through the year.
What kinds of programs do students use the most and how do they use the center?
Most students visit here for job consultation. They use this program so much that about 3,000 students were consulted in 2015. They can use the centers both online and offline. Online, students will be able to check the notifications of all kinds of job placements and apply for counseling. Offline, students can get the information about Job Supporters¡¯ promotions, which are promotions of the HESS ambassador.
I heard that CBNU was chosen for a national project called ¡®Career Development Center for the Creative Economy(CDCCE)¡¯. What is this project and how do CBNU students use this center?
CDCCE is a project which gives employment services to not only CBNU students but also other students who are attending Cheong-ju-located universities. We are going to open the center on May 31st where the Red Cross Blood Donation Center used to be located. the CDCCE will give students professional counseling from career consulting to getting a quality job.
Are there any new programs which the HESS itself is planning to do except for running the CDCCE?
While last year¡¯s programs were focused on only special lectures, we are planning programs that students can actually participate in such as practicing how to write cover letters after special lectures and taking a mock interview after taking lectures about interviews. I hope that CBNU students actively use both HESS and our new service, the CDCCE.
