Alumni who brought honor to CBNU
On April 11th, Do Jong-hwan(Korean Language and Literature, '73) won the 19th general election, and Yu Han-sik(zootechny, '69) also won the local election, so they brought honor to their alma mater. Do Jong-hwan was elected as the 16th proportional representation of the Democratic United Party, so he became a member of the National Assembly. Yu Han-sik was elected as first mayor of Sejong in the 17th local government in Korea. It is expected that Chungbuk National University will develop as its alumni enter the political world.
CBNU was chosen by the UEPE project On April 12th , Chungbuk National University was selected for the University Education Support Program Empowerment (UEPE) by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. CBNU was given a total of 29 billion won. This project provides the university with funds in order to increase the quality of education. The 97 universities attracting UEPE will improve their quality of undergraduate education and strengthen their competition by using the funds by the end of February, 2013.
CBNU selected as a LINC university The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Cooperation selected Chungbuk National University as a Leaders in INdustry-college Cooperation (LINC) university. CBNU will be given a total of 250 billion won during the next five years. LINC will create various models, which will create cooperation between universities and industries. By implementing LINC, CBNU is expected to have influence on other universities, the development of the industrial community and national competitiveness.
CBNU hold a 2012 Companion Animal Festival On May 5th, Chungbuk National University¡¯s animal medical treatment center will hold ¡®2012 Companion Animal Festival¡¯ to increase the understanding about the culture of companion animals. In this festival, the animal medical treatment center is presenting a new slogan, which is ¡®Love for companion animals¡¯, and it will encourage the people to adopt abandoned animals.
