On last February 12, the CDCCW, Career Development Center for College Women, held an opening ceremony on the third floor of the New Students Hall. The CDCCW is an institution actively supported by the Ministry of Gender Equality. It supports a course for college women to systemically to search for employment and to empower them.
Byun Do-yoon, who is the minister of the Ministry of Gender Equality, visited and celebrated the opening ceremony. Through a congratulatory address, she emphasized the project, which is training smart women to develop their power. It enhances their potential abilities and their ability to express themselves too. She also said it would be good for national growth.
The CDCCW has various programs. The programs in detail aim to cultivate knowledge, and, via the program ¡®100 People¡¯s Mentoring¡¯, they can meet various occupational mentors. Furthermore, there are programs for professional experience as well as other programs that can improve their career.
The chief of the CDCCW, Kim Mee-hye (Professor of Computer Engineering Division) said, ¡°The CDCCW has greatly inspired college women to be positive and confident. According to the survey, the men¡¯s employment percentage is higher than the women¡¯s. Similarly, there is still discrimination in reality, although society has looked for equality for both sexes. On this account, women should change their thinking more progressively.¡±
The CDCCW hopes that many students will be interested in this center. Students can acquire information about the CDCCW in detail through the Internet homepage or by visiting the center directly.
