Interview with Yang Kyung-soo, the illustrator

Now, I’m known as ‘Yakchikii(remedy) paintings’ in SNS, but the original name was Yangchikii(shepherd). I am a modern artist, formally known as Yang Kyung-soo, I draw modern Buddhist art and take pictures. However, I had to think of my pseudonym because, if I use my SNS nickname as my pseudonym, many people and I will go through identity confusion. Therefore, I thought of funny words that begin with my surname, Yang, and finally I decided to name myself ‘Yangchikii’s Saki-chikii(shepherd remedies himself)’.

What Were CBNU Student’s Summer Vacation Activities?

CBNU conducted many programs that supported activities for students during the summer vacation in 2016. Major programs included the Global Humanities Finder Project and being a teaching assistant at the English camp. The Global Humanities Finder Project was hosted by the CORE Corporation, a part of the Humanities Department at CBNU, to help the students find humanistic value in the humanities, to explore their careers and humanities integration, and to strengthen practical capacity through activities in international industries, institutions and organizations

The Newly Changed School Cafeteria

The CBNU Consumer Cooperation (CBNU Co-op) proceeded with an environmental improvement project on the 3 school cafeterias for improving the welfare service and living conditions on campus. They tried to increase customer satisfaction by changing the parts that students and faculty felt were uncomfortable. During the past, the most uncomfortable things were that they wanted a comfortable atmosphere when they ate alone and that they wanted separate resting spaces and conference spaces.

The Variety of Programs Provided by the CBNU Office of International Services(OIS)

The CBNU OIS, which aims to build a linguistic education support system that meets global standards, provides students, faculties, and local residents with a variety of language programs. However, according to statistical data about the CBNU OIS, the percentage of utilization of students is only 2.5%, and only 36.6% of 774 foreigners and overseas Koreans have utilized Korean Language classes

[Campus People] Gool Luck, the Only LG Global Challenger Team in CBNU Since 2009

LG Global Challenger is the contest exhibition for 4-year-course college students or graduate students. Participants make teams of 4 members and choose a subject among humanity, society, science, or environment. Then they visit domestic and international regions to investigate their subject with the sponsorship of LG. Gool Luck, CBNU’s LG Global Challenger team, has been the only successful team since 2009. We heard stories about the team and LG Global Challenger from Gool Luck.

The Copyright: How Much Do You Know About This?

Every nation has intellectual and artistic freedom. All rights for copyrighters, inventors, scientific technicians and artists are protected by the copyright law. This is one of the clauses in chapter 2, article 22 of our constitution. Jobkorea, a job portal site, conducted a survey on Constitution Day to check how well people have kept the laws. According to the survey, one of the laws that workers have violated the most was the copyright law, which is ranked second.

The Red Light on the Game Industry in Korea

Hair Salons’ Prices are Two-faced

Last June, there was an incident in a hair salon in Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do. The hair salon’s owner pushed the handicapped people to pay too much money for a long time. In one instance, the owner of the hair salon served dyeing without saying about prices to the disabled customers until she had finished the service. When it was time to charge, she disclosed to the customer that the final price was 520,000 won. The owner has arrested and finally sentenced.

Enjoy the 2016 Cheong-ju Martial Arts Mastership

‘The 2016 Cheong-ju Martial Arts Mastership’ will be held in Cheong-ju from September 2nd to the 8th. The theme of this event is ‘The harmony of the world’s martial arts’. In this contest, which is hosted by Chungcheongbuk-do and Cheongju-si and supervised by the Cheong-ju Martial Arts Mastership Organization Committee, 2,300 athletes from 89 countries will be invited to participate in 17 events.
