Animal Abuse: We Can¡¯t Stand It!
 
East or west, flowers exist everywhere right beside us, and they have various meanings, such as hope, life, love, beginning, fruition and so on. Since every flower has its own beauty, scent, shape, and language, each flower has it¡¯s own distinctive attraction. In addition, flowers are usually used as a gift on some special days. For example, we give carnations on Parent¡¯s Day and Teacher¡¯s Day and a red rose on Coming-of-age Day.
 
These days, a lot of new words that indicate our estranged relationships with others have been coined, such as ¡®honbap¡¯, ¡®honsul¡¯, and ¡®gwantaegi¡¯. These neologisms are all the rage. In addition, many TV programs related to individualism, like ¡®I Live Alone¡¯, have appeared. Of course, it is natural that as the times change, our culture and thoughts also change.
 
Right after I dropped out of high school, it was a nightmare for me to go out in the morning. Whenever I entered clothing stores with my mom, about 6 out of 10 clerks asked us how old I was because, at the time, every high school student was supposed to be at school. Jo Yeong-su is a Korean teacher at Changmun Girls Middle School, and at the same time, he has been a co-representative of a Reading Educational and Cultural Organization named ¡®Chaekttase¡¯ for three years. Last February 15th, CBNU announced that the College of Pharmacy had completely finished relocating its department to the Osong campus, which is located in the Osong industrial complex. This means that establishing the Osong campus, which was part one of the university projects, is finally done. The project of expanding the campus area has carried forward since 2015

Every March, the Haeoleum Festival is held by each college in CBNU for freshmen. It is one of the most exciting events because not only do freshmen prepare for it, but other students who are not freshmen can also participate in it. However, many students have complained about the event for recent years. Furthermore, some of them have insisted that the Haeoleum Festival should be abolished.
 
For 4 weeks, from last Jan. 22nd to Feb. 18th, CBNU¡¯s volunteer team Hanrabong went to Nicaragua in Central America for educational volunteer work. Hanrabong, which consisted of 20 members and a leader, Han Jae-young (Professor of Dept of Chemistry Education), conducted educational activities for Nicaraguan students that comprised 10 subjects: math, physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, economy, Korean, English, culture, and IT.
