The Japanese government has implemented export regulations on South Korean items essential for the production of semiconductors and displays since July 4th, 2019. Then, it excluded Korea from Japan¡¯s whitelist on Aug. 2nd. As a result, Korea¡¯s semiconductor and display industries have been hit hard. The export restrictions have also caused severe conflicts between Korea and Japan. Why did Japan enforce export restrictions on Korea? The CBT analyzed it in more detail from diplomatic, political, and economic perspectives.

Last July 1st, Japan announced that it will regulate exports concerning 3 core materials of semiconductors and displays. It said that the reason is its loss of trust in South Korea. Japan has still not apologized for the forced labor and its military sexual slavery. Koreans who heard this news got angry and started to boycott Japan. Thus, the CBT researched the Japan Boycott and surveyed whether CBNU students know about these issues.

The concept of ¡®artificial intelligence¡¯ was first suggested by Alan Turing in 1950. After a chess tournament between Garry Kasparov and IBM¡¯s supercomputer Deep Blue in 1997, people began to show interest in A.I. Twenty years later, Go champion Lee Se-dol lost a match to Google¡¯s Alpha Go, once again attracting people¡¯s attention to A.I. This caused a massive increase in technologies utilizing A.I., such as robots and devices in medical or financial services.

Lots of college students who are preparing for the next semester are looking back on their vacation. Some students may have studied things they had no time for during the past semester, others may have traveled domestically or abroad, and others may have spent their time watching Netflix and enjoying the air-conditioning in bed to escape the scorching hot summer. In this article, CBT will cover Over the Top (OTT), which refers to online services where people can pick from a variety of interesting TV programs to watch. Why has it become so popular? Which OTT programs suits which people? Let¡¯s find out.

Since last summer, Japan has implemented regulations on some export items for South Korea. Most of the semiconductor parts, which are South Korea¡¯s major export items, are dependent on imports from Japan, but Japan announced export regulations for those parts. This has deepened the conflict between the two countries.

I have worked with CBT for two years. I have written various articles since I joined CBT. However, this is the first time for me to write the Reporter¡¯s View, which expresses a reporter¡¯s thoughts, and I decided to write about my life. Since I was twenty years old, I have pursued a goal. The goal is to be a mature person by becoming mentally independent.

People enjoy many kinds of works of arts in life. Music, paintings, poems, and novels give people many indirect experiences. Moon Kwang-hoon, who is a professor of the Dept. of German Language and Literature in CBNU, gave a lecture on the subject. The lecture¡¯s title was ¡®The Pleasure of Music, Paintings, and Literature¡¯. He gave the speech at an Open Lectures forum on June 29th. He explained about the pleasures of mixed emotions as well as the simpler pleasures. Readers can also watch his lecture on Naver TV.

The new library was built last year. It was completed in August 2018, and now it is officially open, so many CBNU students are using the new library. However, CBNU students have complaints about it. Now, the new library is only operating from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Because of its short operating hours, many CBNU students have complaints about the new library. According to a survey about the new library by the Synergy Student Council, 95.9% of the respondents answered that the new library is the place they want to use most. Bae Min-joo (¡¯19 Dept. of Urban Engineering) said, ¡°I mainly use the old library.

At the end of the semester, many students prepare for vacation. They might work a part-time job, begin an internship, take a rest at home, or go on a trip. To accomplish these activities, health is essential. There are many students who do physical training in sports facilities. However, most of the students cannot afford to pay for high-quality sports facilities. They might have to consider the price, size, and many other factors. To lessen these worries and to help students receive reasonable health care, the CBT reporters decided to introduce a sports facility in CBNU.
