Centralization is a very common phenomenon in this era, and it is creating a noticeable gap in various fields. It has had a marked influence upon foreign students alike. Therefore, in the light of this phenomenon, schools located in local areas are making serious efforts to attract as many students as possible. In this article, CBT reporters intends to find out more about Chungbuk National University¡¯s strategies and efforts to attract foreign students. | |

Welcoming the last month of 2021, CBT reporters reported on what has been accomplished by the 53rd Cross General Student Council of Chungbuk National University over the past year. The reporters had an interview with Oh Tae-young, the current president. In short, the main commitments made by the council over the past year were: ¡®Entering buildings on campus with a mobile student ID QR code¡¯, ¡®Pre-freshman orientation¡¯, ¡®Improvement of the campus police system¡¯ and ¡®Gradually opening the central library for 24 hours on a daily basis.¡¯ | |

On October 1st, CBT reporters visited the Cheongju National Museum of Contemporary Art located in Naedeok-dong. It was opened in Cheongju in December 2018 as the fourth contemporary art museum after Gwacheon, Deoksugung Palace and Seoul. The museum, which used to be a tobacco factory, was rebuilt to preserve history, symbolism and to harmonize with the surrounding landscape by maintaining existing forms such as chimneys. | |

Recently, a withering group of coniferous forests was found in Korea. Kim Jin-won, who is a researcher and in charge of monitoring the climate change ecosystem of the Korea National Park Service, said that the group withering has begun since 2014~2015. Statistics on group withering obtained through monitoring show that the phenomenon of group withering in Jirisan Mountain increased by 3.7 times in 2018 compared to 2008, and by 5.8 times in 2016 compared to 2008 in Seoraksan Mountain. | |

The television series Squid Game, which has recently gained worldwide popularity, is a program produced directly for the well-known video media, Netflix. According to the changes of the times, OTT services have received attention as the new go-to video medium. OTT is an abbreviation of ¡®over-the-top,¡¯ in other words, a service that allows people to watch videos anywhere via the Internet. Initially, the service was provided as a cable or satellite broadcasting service through a set-top box, but since the development of the Internet, OTT services can be enjoyed with various devices such as a PC and a smartphone negating the need for a set-top box. | |

To be socially successful, the most important ability required is ¡®Empathy¡¯, ¡®Why is ¡®Empathy¡¯ important and why should people practice it?¡¯ This is an important question people need to seriously ponder.
