Agriculture Building Renovation Gets Underway
Since last July, a major renovation of the Research Building (S21-5) at the College of Agriculture, Life, and Environmental Sciences has been underway. The building, completed in 1981, is now over 40 years old. Users have persistently faced inconveniences such as corroded plumbing, faulty heating and cooling systems, and water leaks. These issues reached a point where emergency repairs alone were insufficient to maintain the facility.

The Way to Help Foreign Donors Give Blood
As donation campaigns spread across university districts and campuses work to create safe, welcoming donation environments, volunteers are assisting with interpretation, guidance, and clear explanations of safe donation procedures—boosting participation in the process. To lower language barriers for foreign blood donors, the Korean Red Cross Blood Services is running the Korea Translation & Interpreting Supporters program. CBT reporters interviewed a program official, a CBNU student who is volunteering as a supporter, and foreign participants who received interpreting support to hear about program operations, activities, and their experiences.
A Spoonful of Emotion: ¡°Kkudeok-Kkudeok¡±
Recent psychological studies continue to show that engaging in art activities can help reduce stress and encourage self-expression. The American Art Therapy Association reports that, ¡°Expressing emotions through colors and shapes helps lower levels of cortisol, the hormone responsible for stress.¡± In Korea, a 2023 report by Seoul National University¡¯s Institute of Human Ecology revealed that 78% of participants in art-related activities experienced a higher sense of psychological stability. Even short moments spent visualizing emotions through colors and forms stimulate the brain¡¯s emotion-regulation areas, enhancing emotional balance and calmness.

Yellow Envelope Act Reshape Korea¡¯s Labor-Management Paradigm?
On Aug. 24, the National Assembly Republic of Korea (NAROK) passed, by an overwhelming margin, the Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act amendments (the Yellow Envelope Act). The amendments aim to make the constitutional right to collective action effective in workplaces by strengthening practical protections for workers. Managements have warned, however, that the law could unduly constrain managerial discretion and disrupt the legal system, suggesting that conflict between labor and employers may intensify even after passage.
Do You Know Kimchi?
Kimchi comes in more over 300 varieties depending on the region, season, and preparation method. The most common types include napa cabbage kimchi, ponytail radish kimchi, cubed radish kimchi, cucumber kimchi, watery kimchi, radish water kimchi, green onion kimchi, water-based young radish kimchi, and mustard leaf kimchi. As such, it is worth revisiting the meaning and value of kimchi, a fermented food that is an essential part of the Korean dining table.
What Is Stablecoin?
A stablecoin is a type of digital currency with a stable value, typically pegged 1:1 to a stable asset such as the USD or gold. For example, one stablecoin pegged to USD always holds the value of one dollar. Since its price does not fluctuate like other cryptocurrencies, it is not viewed as an investment asset. However, stablecoins serves well as a store of value and settlement asset in crypto markets. When someone earns profits through cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, they can convert those earnings into stablecoins instead of cashing out and depositing them in a bank.
[Desk Column] Gaps in Employment, Gaps in Fraud
On the surface, this sentence sounds like a great opportunity. Nevertheless, when the blanks in that sentence—such as company identity, contract terms, visa type, and the right to hold one¡¯s passport—are not clearly filled in, those blanks can become traps that consume someone¡¯s life. The recent overseas employment scam incident in Cambodia is not merely a public safety issue. It is a structural accident born from cracks in the unstable youth labor market and the employment ecosystem.
