The CBNU Center for International Affairs usually selects Global Language Talented Students from April 30th to May 6th. Selected students can go abroad for language training during summer vacation from July 30th to September 2nd. Considering the training courses, CBNU supports 2,500,000~ 3,200,000 Won, which is 50% of the total expenses, for selected students. To apply for this program, students should fill in the application on the CBNU Total Information System and submit the required documents to the Center which are needed for an interview. The nations language training is carried out are US, Canada, China and countries where English is the 2nd language. About 15 to 20 students are scheduled to be selected, and the training period is about 4 to 6 weeks. CBNU students who are currently enrolled can apply for this program. They should possess official English grades such as TOEIC, TOEFL and TEPS taken within the last 2 years. Students who apply to the English-as-a-second-language countries do not need official English grades, but, if they have it, they will get extra points. Students who received at least a 3.0 GPA every semester are qualified for selection. CBNU excludes students who have been abroad over 6 months or have already experienced a CBNU global program in order to give students equal opportunities. The total score of each applicant is calculated by 30% of their school record, 40% of a language score and 30% of interview evaluation. If the total score is the same between applicants, CBNU preferentially singles the students out in order of language score, school record and interview points. The Global Language Talented Students project is a program for freshman and sophmores. The present rate between lower grade students and higher grade students is fifty-fifty. CBNU will select the students at the rate of seventy-thirty by adjusting the rate between lower grade students and higher grade students starting by 2012.
