Invaluable and special lectures started in Chung-buk National University(CBNU)
CBNU will invite two lecturers for Omnibus Liberal Lectures this semester. One is Park Kyung-chul, who is the director of SSG Union hospital, and the other is Jeong Hyung-jin, who graduated from our university and is now the president of Andong University. Since 2004 CBNU has offered '21C Life and Future' to satisfy the intellectual desires of students and expand students' perspectives of society. Students can meet well-known figures each week during this semester.
Our school turned out the first female ROTC.
The first female ROTC(Reserve Officers' Training Corps) was produced in CBNU. One woman in the public eye is Kim Hee-su(22, the Department of Economics). She is the only one who passed its examination in CBNU. Nationally, 20 out of about 220 applicants passed the 52nd ROTC test. After traineeship for 2 years, she is going to serve in the army for 28 months from 2014.
Chungbuk National University has conducted the second self-assessment of departments.
CBNU has implemented the second evaluation. This evaluation targeted 78 departments to raise the quality of education and to strengthen CBNU's competitiveness. The evaluation committee, formed separately for this assessment, tested the ability of each department to manage itself and its outputs. The committee announced the evaluation results : 4 departments were rated ¡®S¡¯(very superior), 17 departments were ranked ¡®A¡¯(superior), 46 departments received ¡®B¡¯(average) and 11 departments were given ¡®C¡¯(unsatisfactory).
