Do You Know CBNU's New Changes in 2011?

It has been 60 years since Chungbuk National University(CBNU) was established as 'Cheong-ju Agricultural College'. There have been many changes such as new departments, new buildings and revised curricula. Chungbuk Times(CBT) will introduce CBNU's changes from 2011.

<A new start with a new vision!>

CBNU has a new vision in congratulating its 60th anniversary. The new vision of CBNU is 'Leaping into the center of the country with a local community'. The new vision reflects the will to swim with the globalization current and to meet the local community's demand.

CBNU also renewed goals to befit the new vision. The goal is, 'CBNU will be ranked in the top 50 in Asia, in the top 300 in the world and in the top 20 in Korea by seeking education quality.

CBNU will go in the direction toward its vision and goals based on innovative education and research, establishing a future-oriented infrastructure and creating a progressive campus culture.

CBNU demanded the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology(M.E.S.T) to establish a department of Nursing Science. As a result, the Dept. of Nursing Science will be established and will recruit 60 new students in 2012. CBNU is the only school that doesn't have a Dept. of Nursing Science among universities having an affiliated hospital.

CBNU hopes to increase the hospital's efficiency by filling the nursing shortage and increasing the employment rate by creating the Dept. of Nursing Science.

CBNU is going to produce many nurses with outstanding talent based on CBNU hospital's well-equipped medical facilities. By creating the Dept. of Nursing Science, CBNU can help Chungcheongbuk-do, which has had difficulty in supplying a medical labor force.

<What is the building in front of the main gate?>

The 3rd law-school building will be completed this October. The 3rd law-school building has 9 floors including the basement level. In October, desks and equipment will be installed in the building. The date of the opening ceremony has not been decided yet. CBNU law-school will try to train students to be experts in scientific law by strengthening industry cooperation with Osong High-tech Industrial Complex laboratories.
