The Electronic Information Fair in Library with Stamp Tour
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 15, an Electronic Information Fair was held on the first floor of the new library of CBNU to increase the utilization of electronic information. The annual Electronic Information Fair was originally operated in the second half of the year, but this year, it was held in the first half of the year so that students could make the most of the library subscription academic DB (Data Base) through academic counseling. A stamp tour was conducted to introduce undergraduate and graduate students on how to search for academic data necessary for research or assignments and to apply for a lottery prize by collecting stamps.
Expansion of AI-Campus: Assistance for Self-Development
CBNU Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) introduced the learning system CBNU AI-Campus using AI from the first semester of 2025. CTL said it has introduced AI-Campus to help students who cannot adapt to college life due to lack of basic academic ability. AI-Campus measures students¡¯ levels through diagnostic evaluation, presents the most efficient learning process based on the measured learning ability, and visualizes strengths and weaknesses in the learning process to help them learn best.
Empty Seats, but Fully Booked: Seat Hoarding in the Library
Every exam season at CBNU, fierce competition erupts over reserving library seats. However, despite the reservation app often showing a ¡°fully booked¡± status, the library frequently appears half-empty. It is common to find seats occupied only by unattended bags—a phenomenon widely referred to as the ¡°Library Seat Monopolization.¡± As a result, many students who actually wish to use the library are unable to do so. This issue has not only arisen during the current exam period but recurs every semester.
Make a Tradition of Pottery in Bukchon
Korean traditional pottery is a practical art that has endured for thousands of years. Starting from simple earthenware in the early days, it has developed into a cultural heritage with both artistry and functionality today. Walking through the alleys of Bukchon, CBT reporters could encounter workshops and experience centers that convey the long history. The CBT reporters visited the Bukchon Traditional Craft Experience Center to experience the world of pottery firsthand and discover its value.
Crumbling Educational Authority: A Crisis in the Classroom
In 2023, a teacher at Seoul Seoi Elementary School took their own life after reportedly suffering relentless pressure and complaints from parents. After the tragic incident, the issue on educational authority is referred to public opinion. With remembrance, thousands of educators rallied to demand stronger protection and a restoration of professional respect. However, two years have passed, yet little has changed.
Abolish the Constitutional Protection, Overthrow the Dictatorship
The 6.10 Uprising was a protest in which citizens won democracy through resistance against the military dictatorship. The death of Park Jong-chul under torture ignited public outrage, which spread nationwide on June 10. CBT reporters heard the story about Lim Sung-kyu (64, the former spokesperson of the Party for Peace and Democracy and an aide to a National Assembly member), who was at the scene that day, about the overwhelming emotions of June 10, 1987, in Seoul.
The 21st PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Democratic Party and the leader Lee Jae-myung have continuously framed the People Power Party as a far-right faction that defended martial law, while positioning himself and his party as moderate conservatives or true conservatives. In the aftermath of Yoon¡¯s martial law crisis, several right-leaning politicians have defected to the Democratic Party, claiming that Candidate Lee is the one who can truly realize conservative values. A notable example is Her Eun-a, the former leader of the Reform Party, who recently joined the Democratic Party after previously serving in both the People Power Party and the Reform Party.
Cheongju, Envisioning a City Through Gardens
In the warm breeze of May, Cheongju Saengmyeongnuri Park was filled with vibrant gardens. From May 9 to 11, the Cheongju Gardening Festival offered citizens a unique opportunity to connect with nature in the heart of the city, engaging all five senses. Now in its ninth year—excluding a one-year break in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic—the festival has become one of the Cheongju¡¯s most beloved outdoor events.
