Many people adopt pets with love. However, although they love pets, there are many problems with raising pets. Owners of pets are cruel to animals for their convenience. If their dogs bark every night, they can't raise their dogs in apartments, so many people who adopt dogs allow doctors to operate on the dogs' vocal cord nodules which prevents them from making noises. However, people don't realize that these behaviors are maltreatment.
 
We visited the Cheongju General Animal Clinic in Sudong. The clinic was filled with abandoned animals unlike normal animal hospitals. When we entered the clinic, the animals welcomed the reporters by wagging their tails. The behaviors were the same as any other pets in homes.
 
The number of dabangs has decreased as coffee shops have settled in Korea, and dabangs are now understood negatively because of high association with illegal prostitution. However, in the 1980s, dabang was a guest room of old people, a resting place of workers and a study room of students. CBT covered that why dabangs have been out of the limelight and found attractions of dabangs which were loved by people.
 
In the new era of individual media, bloggers' influence is growing continuously. 'Power Blogger Alliance' is a gathering which was founded to promote public interest though their powerful influence. The alliance launched 'Power Blogger Times' which is a webzine to celebrate their first anniversary in December. CBT met Yang Ji-hae, who is a representative of Power Blogger Alliance.
 
The perception of considering a blog as a source of income has been created. These days, many bloggers are concerned about making money from their blogs. They obtain helpful information through sharing their own skills to earn money.
 
What is the real power blog among many blogs? In the case of a few famous blogs which are known by so many people. Blogs have the power to deliver information to a million people in a day. People call the owners of those blogs power bloggers.
 
Every Sunday morning, if you visit Insadong in Seoul, you can meet a man who draws paintings on worn-out clothes. His name is Yoon Ho-seob, the professor of the Department of Visual Communication Design at Kookmin University. He is known as "T-shirt man in Insadong".
 
The 21st century is a great time where eco-friendly technologies enable companies to make money. General Electric, a leading company with Green Growth technology, announced the slogan "Green is Green." The initial "green" means environment and the latter refers to the green color of a dollar, namely profits.
 
We all know that the government and corporations make extensive policies for environmental sustainability. In addition to that, culture has become an important strategy in the aspect of environmental protection. Many people indirectly protect the environment by using musical or artistic methods.
 
Because of the seriousness of environmental pollution and an increased interest in the environment, many environment-friendly products have come out. Besides natural gas buses and organic products which are commonly used in everyday life, many other interesting eco-friendly products are being released such as products that lower the energy amount that we use, reduce the waste of resource by recycling and reusing, or are made of biodegradable substances. Various kinds of products have been created for the protection of the environment.
 
Nowadays, people can easily see public service announcemnet on the theme of multi-cultural families. This phenomenon shows that multi-cultural families are an important issue in Korea. To make a better society for them, it is necessary for all of us to understand their lives. CBT visited a field day event which was held by the Multi Cultural Family Center to listen to their stories. While there, we met and talked with a staff member of the center and also members of multi-cultural families.
 
Many countries have accepted immigrants of various races in this globalization era. Recently, Korea is facing the same situation and is going through a period of transition to a multi-racial country. Some developed countries, which already experienced this transition period, have created suitable policies for the integration of immigrants.
 
It is getting ambiguous to say that Korea is a racially homogeneous nation as family members have been diversified. Currently, people can easily find foreign-born women and their children. According to the Korea National Statistical Office, the population of foreign spouses, which immigrated to Korea for getting married to Koreans, exceeded 130,000 as of the spring of 2010. It is five times more than that of 10 years ago.
 
According to Ministry of public Administration and Security, the number of foreigners who live in Korea is about 1.2 million. They take up 2.2 percent of registrated population. As Korea has become a multi-cultural society, culture and policies have been changing.
 
As multi-cultural families have increased in Korean society, the education of their second generations has become a serious problem. The multi-cultural families whose children go to Korean schools are growing quickly every year. However, most of them quit school because of maladjustment to Korean culture, the language barrier or bullying caused by different appearances.
 
The first step of basic investing is reducing consumption and saving money. However, you don't have to be a miser. Wise spending is the best way to reduce consumption. Many university students have little experience in investing. A little effort in daily life, however, can be the investment, such as using coupon books to be more frugal.
 
Many people know that financial investments are very important, but they are difficult to practice. Here are some tips that might help students to invest more easily. For more professional advice, CBT asked for advice from Kim Byeong-gi, who is a professor from the school of business.
 
 
Stocks are an investment that people can't easily approach unless having knowlege about it. However, with the appearance of paper trading, which resulted from the growth of the Internet, people who have been interested in stocks but have dared not experiment are now able to give it a try.
